Signing our Names

This beautiful weather has allowed the guys to work on the exterior of the house while the trim guys finish up inside.
They prepped the sidewalks and driveway over the weekend and the driveway concrete was poured today.
We checked Emma out of school and each of us signed our names and the girls pressed their handprints into the ground.
This day might have been the most fun! It is rare that all 4 of us are there at the same time. It also made the house seem real.

Exterior Paint

We have had the most unbelievable weather this year for building a house! They often wait until the end to paint the exterior, but with temps in the high 60's, they painted the last week of February!
They still have trim and columns to paint, but the majority is finished!

Brick Column Bases and Shake

I don't think our house will truly look like it is supposed to until the top portion of the column is complete, but the brick base sure helped the exterior look. The guys also finished up the shake shingles in the eaves of the house and it looks great!

 

 

Door and Window Trim

When trying to build a house with "old" charm, the trim details have to be one of the most important things in the house. These guys caught my vision!

Doors

We have interior doors and I love them! They look like the doors long ago.

Cabinet Install

We have cabinets!! Robert Morgan built all of our cabinets and our fireplace mantel. He took all of my pictures and made them come to life. Everything is exactly as I had envisioned!

 

I'm standing in the living room, looking into the kitchen. The Room inside the arch is the dining room and room past the kitchen is the laundry/mudroom.

 

This is the fireplace wall in the living room and it makes me so happy!

 

I had no idea that a laundry room could make me giddy, but this does. After having a very small laundry room and no place short enough for my little people to hang their own backpacks and coats up, this will be a luxury.
