Our Lot
Well, here is our lot on September 20, 2011. We move into our rent house in 2 days and then we will hopefully get to concentrate on getting the house started. Woohoo!

2 Years Later
When I wrote the first post, I had no idea that it would be over two years later until I would write again. We have had our house for sale off and on for two whole years. For Sale by Owner part of the time, 2 different realtors and a few off months to regain our sanity. There were times we doubted our decision to buy the lot, but then we would drive by it and know that it was for us.
On August 22, 2011, an older couple came to look at our house. They came back an hour later with family and made us an offer the following day. We countered a few times, but finally landed on a price. It was not ideal, but after 2 years it was worth it to us to get it off our hands. These people are "the ones" that we have prayed for. I do not know them and their story, but I pray this house will be a blessing to them.
The last two years have not been easy keeping a house "show ready", but it was a journey of faith and thankfulness. With the economy the way it is, I would always try to turn my frustration of not selling to thankfulness. We have had a roof over our head, air conditioning in the hot months and heat in the cold months. We were not in debt and not begging for food. John has had a job and we have been just fine. We are thankful for this house on 3171 Birch Place. It will forever be the home that we brought Brooklyn home from the hospital to. It holds many memories of Christmas', community groups, movie nights, play dates, family gatherings, Barbie playing, book reading, late night giggles and lots of fun. Our girls friendship was created in this house. I also know that a family is not about where you live. I will miss this house and will always remember the memories made here, but as long as my 3 loves are with me, that is where our home is.
On September 22, we will move all of our belongings to a rental house and will give over the keys to 3171 Birch Place the following day. We may never know why it took us so long to sell our house, but I do know that God's timing is perfect.
